from Dave Poulton
My wife and I chose Royal Oak to live and raise our three children because of the quality of life and incredible opportunities that are available.
However, like other Michigan cities, Royal Oak faces tough decisions in the times ahead. Our city requires leaders who will advocate for reform and bring transparency and accountability to our city government. This is why I have decided to seek a position on the City Commission on Election Day, November 3rd.
I am involved and committed to Royal Oak and will make decisions that are in the interest of the entire community. Our City Commission has demonstrated their trust and confidence in my decision-making capabilities. Over the past three years, I have been appointed to serve on more city boards and committees than any other candidate. I currently serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. I am also the former Chairman of the Charter Review Committee.
I have been endorsed by many residents and community leaders who support my spirited effort to maintain Royal Oak as one of the premier cities in Michigan. Some of these notable endorsements include Dave Gorcyca, a former Royal Oak City Commissioner and Oakland County Prosecutor, and Jay and Patty Dunstan, 2008 Royal Oak Citizens of the Year.
They are all part of my effort to become your next City Commissioner and with good reason. I will pursue an agenda to ensure our property values are preserved and neighborhoods remain strong, first-rate city services are delivered, senior citizen services are funded, and recreational opportunities are improved and enhanced.
As your next City Commissioner, I will also strive to maintain a vibrant mixed-use downtown without the need for overregulation. I oppose the moratorium on the upcoming ballot. I am prepared to stand up and make a decision on each individual liquor license request with the utmost concern for our neighborhoods and public safety.
I am eager to hear from residents who have ideas to share with me. Please feel free to contact me at 248.435.4479 or poulton4cc@gmail.com. Working together, we will keep our city as one of the finest places in Michigan to live, work and raise a family.
Sincerely,
David Poulton |
