SPEAKER PROGRAM
“RED RUN the Ghost River of Royal Oak”
by
Naturalist Bob Muller

Learn about the river that used to run through our city. Between the late 1920’s and 1960’s it was buried.
It is now a ghost river, but if you know what to look for you can still see signs of it. One creek survived until the 1960’s with fish in it. Learn about the marsh where it started in Ferndale and Oak Park. Find out its paths through Royal Oak where it flowed and what can still be seen of it.

Along with Red Run the ghosts of farms and ridges left by the glaciers will be touched upon. After this talk your eyes will become time machines allowing you to be able to see into the past almost wherever you look in Royal Oak.
