Four Charter Amendments: a. Renew millage for refuse collection, disposal and curbside recycling; b. Term of elective officers commences at 12:00 noon on the first Monday in December following the officers election; c. Charter recognize State Law for filing deadlines concerning nominating petitions for city office; d. Require fee to be paid no later than the same time as nominating petition submission. South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless: Fundraiser at Comedy Castle, 310 S. Troy St., Royal Oak, MI, Thursday, November 10, 2011. Comedy act featuring Rob Little. Also appearing Jeff Dwoskin. Cost is $30 per person ($15 may be used as a charitable income tax deduction for 2011) Doors open at 6 pm. Silent Auction & 50/50 Raffle from 6:00 to 7:15 pm, Dinner catered by Vintage House at 6:15 pm. Entertainment at 8:00 pm. Royal Oak Historical Society Museum invites you to wander through the stores and ChristmasTree Lane of yesteryear, entitled “Christmas Shopping Through the Years in Downtown Royal Oak.” Exhibit will open Saturday, November 12, 11 am to 5 pm. Santa will be there for the children from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Royal Oak Optimist Club will honor 12 high school seniors from Royal Oak, Shrine and Berkley. These students were selected by their faculty and advisors for outstanding contributions in their community as well as in the classroom. Join them at the Boys and Girls Club at 7:15 am on November 16th. The club members will be singing Christmas Carols and ringing a Salvation Army bell on December 6 in front of Holiday Market. Stop by and throw a few dollars in the kettle and join them in song.
